Support the Partnership

The Wilson Education Partnership is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, dependent on donations from our community to cover operating expenses. Every donation is very important and will be used to support our initiatives and work to promote quality public education in Wilson County.

The Partnership generates operating funds annually from three primary sources: the in harmony concert, the Adult Spelling Bee, and the Annual Fund Campaign.

Contributions to WEP are tax-deductible

Investment Opportunities

The in harmony choral concert began in 1990 as the organization’s first fund-raiser. The concert combines the talents of the choral music departments from the three high schools, featuring more than 400 students singing and dancing together in two performances for the community.  The All-County Middle School Honors Chorus, composed of 100+ students from the six middle schools, is also featured in one show. Tickets sales and sponsorships provide revenue for the Partnership.

The Adult Spelling Bee is a venue for the business community and educators to come together in fun to raise money to support school programs. Teams of four spellers pay a registration entry fee.  Team members cooperate to correctly spell the words.  When a word is missed, they stay in the competition by purchasing the word. Teams are composed of school faculty, parents, business employees, and community leaders.

The Annual Fund Campaign is an appeal to businesses, industries and civic clubs. Donations are accepted to underwrite programs that benefit both students and teachers.

Additional Opportunities

Program Sponsors make benevolent contributions to fund a specific program or event.  Sponsorship opportunities are available for current initiatives and for new enrichment experiences for students or teachers.

The WEP Endowment Fund (established with the North Carolina Community Foundation) provides on-going support for the operations and sustainability.  Individuals and organizations may direct charitable gifts, pledges and planned bequests to the Endowment.  Click here to make a contribution.  (Select N/A in the dropdown box, then designate your gift by writing in Wilson Education Partnership in the second box.)

In-kind contributions of supplies, materials, equipment and professional services are welcome.

Matching Gifts Programs are offered by many local companies, which can enhance individual investments in the Partnership.

Gifts in honor or memory of others for any special occasion or ‘just because’ can be sent directly to the Wilson Education Partnership or to the Endowment Fund.  An acknowledgement will be sent to the honoree.
